Refunds and Returns Policy

This policy is designed to comply with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act). We rely on an efficient network of external international suppliers to bring you the best value and variety.


1. Statutory Right of Return (Cooling-Off Period)

For all purchases made online through the Deals and More website, you have a statutory right to cancel your order and return the goods, subject to certain conditions and exclusions, as set out by the ECT Act.

  • Return Period: You may cancel an order and return the products for any reason within 7 calendar days of receiving your order.
  • Condition of Product: The product must be unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging with all labels and accessories intact.
  • Refund: We will issue a full refund of the purchase price (excluding the original delivery charge, if any).
  • Return Shipping Cost: As per the ECT Act, you will be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods to our designated local address in Wynberg, Cape Town.
  • Processing Time: The refund will be processed within 30 days of the date we receive the cancellation notice, provided the returned goods have been received and inspected by us.

2. Returns for Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Products

Your products are covered by an Implied Warranty of Quality for a period of 6 months from the date of delivery, as stipulated by the CPA.

2.1 Quality and Defect Claims

If a product proves to be defective, unsafe, or unsuitable for its intended purpose within 6 months of delivery:

  • Your Choice of Remedy: You have the right to choose, at your discretion, a repair, replacement, or a full refund of the purchase price, without penalty.
  • Cost of Return: If the return is due to a defect, damage, or an incorrect item being sent, Deals and More will be responsible for the cost of collecting the product from you.
  • Proof: You must provide clear photographic or video evidence of the defect or damage to initiate the claim.

2.2 Incorrect Product Delivered

If we accidentally deliver the wrong product to you, or if the product does not match the description on the website:

  • We will collect the product from you at no charge.
  • We will either deliver the correct product to you as soon as possible, or issue a full refund, as per your instruction.

3. Order Delays and Loss

As we use external international suppliers, delivery times can sometimes be unpredictable.

  • Full Refund for Excessive Delay: For orders shipped to South Africa, if your order’s total shipping time exceeds 60 calendar days from the date the package leaves our supplier’s warehouse, you may be eligible for a full refund. This excludes delays caused by customs inspection or delivery pending due to an insufficient address provided by the customer.
  • Lost Package: If the tracking information confirms the package is missing during delivery, we will offer a full refund or resend the order.

4. Exclusions (Items Not Eligible for Return or Refund)

The following items are generally excluded from the 7-day “Cooling-Off” period (change of mind return), but may still be returned if they are defective within the 6-month warranty period:

  1. Custom or Special-Order Items (e.g., products personalised or made to your specifications).
  2. Health, Hygiene, and Perishable Goods (e.g., underwear, swimwear, earrings, cosmetics, food items) where the original sealed packaging has been opened or the goods have been used.
  3. Digital Products (e.g., software, e-books, music) once the download or access has commenced.
  4. Goods that have been partially or entirely disassembled, altered, or damaged through misuse or neglect.

5. How to Initiate a Return

Please initiate all requests promptly to allow us to manage the process effectively with our international supply chain.

  1. Contact Us: Email us at refunds@dealsandmore.co.za within the relevant return period (7 days for change of mind, 6 months for defects).
  2. Provide Information: Include your Order Number, the reason for the return, and clear photos/videos of the product, especially if claiming damage or defect.
  3. Return Instructions: Once your return is approved, we will provide you with the necessary return address (our Wynberg, Cape Town location or another designated local warehouse) and further instructions.
  4. Send Tracking: If you are responsible for the return shipping (e.g., change of mind), you must provide us with the tracking number once the item has been shipped.

Note to Customer: As the e-commerce store, “Deals and More” is your sole point of contact for all returns, refunds, and exchanges. We handle the communication and resolution with our international suppliers on your behalf. We aim to process all legally required refunds (defects, cooling-off) within 15 business days of receiving and inspecting the returned product.
